At Westec, Hurco (Indianapolis, IN) will demonstrate machines from the VM and VMX Series of vertical machining centers, as well as the TM Series of turning centers. The VM Series are powerful, versatile VMCs with large work cubes and small footprints. The 16-station, swing-arm, automatic tool changer keeps tools out of the work envelope. Spindles of 8,000, 10,000 and 20,000 rpm are available. The VMX Series provides greater part accuracy and surface finish via digital drives, larger ballscrews and linear rails, plus heavier servo drives. The increased metal removal rates and higher feed rates significantly decrease part cycle times. Hurco’s TM Series of CNC slant-bed turning centers are specifically designed for job shops and contract manufacturers who need efficient processing of small to medium sized lots. Every Hurco machine tool utilizes a company-designed, flexible control that allows users to create parts or products the way that works best for their shop. Programming can be done on the shop floor via conversational language or with G-Code. Additionally, parts can be programmed offline with popular CAM software or exported directly to the control from CAD systems.
