Plustech Inc., the North American branch of Sodick’s IMM Division, will introduce three new models: the HC03VRE micro vertical molding machine, the LP20EH3 micro horizontal molding machine, and GL series mid-size horizontal molding machine. All three models feature Sodick’s V-Line two-stage plunger system, which separates the plasticization and injection processes for consistent measurement and injection.

At NPE, Sodick will feature a live demo of the HC03VRE in a direct-gated, two-cavity micro-bobbin application with a cycle time of 1.9 sec. The 3-ton machine features a rotary table and incorporates a mold clamping system that closes and clamps in a single motion with a belt-driven table rotation. This electrically driven, hybrid, direct-pressure mold-clamping system uses four tie bars to ensure alignment and high rigidity so that clamping force is applied uniformly.

In partnership with Celanese (Vectra LCP), Mold Craft and LPKF, the 20-ton LP20EH3 will be demonstrating a vented processor housing, a complex part simulating a medical device cover. Sodick also will demonstrate the GL100 in an automated cell with cavity pressure monitoring and a visual inspection system.
