The Yasda YBM 640V3 three-axis CNC vertical jig borer from Methods Machine Tools is designed for high-speed, precision boring and milling operations in mold, die and complex-component manufacturing. With accuracy and rigidity that virtually eliminates the need for hand polishing, the machine is said to simplify moldmaking in industries such as aerospace, automotive, medical, defense and more.

A reinforcement rib under the bridge provides increased rigidity and minimizes vibration during acceleration and deceleration. The light weight of the spindle head and saddle helps optimize machine efficiency, and the hand-scraped alignment of through-hardened, 60-Rc box ways increases mechanical accuracy. A rugged spindle enables a full range of machining, from heavy-duty roughing to delicate fine finishing, while providing long tool and spindle-bearing life.

The machine offers standard spindle speed as fast as 24,000 rpm and a 7/24 taper with No. 40 spindle taper hole. The table measures 27.5" × 17.7" (700 × 450 mm) and has a loading capacity of 661 lbs (300 kg). XYZ travel is 23.6" × 15.7" × 13.8" (600 × 400 mm × 350 mm). The YBM 640V3 also is equipped with a 100-tool automatic tool changer and a FANUC 31i-Model 5 controller.
