These machines are available in five different series with configurations ranging from four axes with up to 11 tools to 11 axes with up to 30 tools. They also can handle bar stock to ?32 mm and feature e 6000 or 8000 rpm 5/7.5 HP main spindles, 6000 or 8000 rpm 3.5 HP subspindles, and 1260 IPM rapid traverses within a distance of .03937”. Several models offer simultaneous processing with two or three tools and are capable of secondary processing (milling and drilling) by means of a 2 HP front drilling spindle. To facilitate complex machining combinations, three independent carriages are available for automatic placement. Also on display will be the Matsuura H.Plus-405, a large-capacity, HMC for high-speed milling and contouring. Features include feedrates and rapid traverses to 1968 ipm in all axes, accelerations to 1 G, and a high-speed pallet changer. A maximum work envelope of Ø25.59” x 29.50”, a maximum load capacity of 881 pounds, heavy-duty spindles, and a 31-station ATC provide the versatility to handle a wide range of production requirements. The HMC comes standard with a 12,000 rpm BT40 taper spindle that delivers high torque at low speeds and 30 hp (direct drive) at high speeds.
