Tunnel gate inserts from i-mold GmbH are designed for bottom (submarine) gating in cases where the upper or visible surface of a molded part cannot show any gate vestige. They are alternatives to two-part tunnel gates that have to be machined into a mold.

The company has added two tunnel gate inserts to its offerings. The TGHL (tunnel gate high level) version is designed for internal gating of parts in the region of the parting line in cases where the parts have a rim all the way around or are ribbed close to the edge. The TGLL (tunnel gate low level) design is used for the gating of parts featuring an internal contour below the parting line.
