The Sino-R toolholder from Schunk is designed to be maintenance-free and is said to be particularly well-suited for rough milling. Based on an expansion technology system, the toolholder features a solid body and a pressure medium that enables the cutting tool to be quickly clamped using a simple spanner wrench, reducing unproductive machine downtime.

The Sino-R offers a maximum torque transmission of 850 Nm (627 foot-pounds) at a clamping diameter of 32 mm (1.25"). It is precision-balanced standard to G 6.3 at 15,000 rpm. Intermediate sleeves also make the toolholder flexible. Nearly all common tool shank diameters can be clamped, the company says.
