Progressive Components (Wauconda, IL) has added Roller Pullers™ to its product line—advancing the standards over other devices for controlling the sequence of openings for parting lines within a mold. Features include: smooth, friction-free action ideal for cleanroom operations; no grease required on external components; spring ‘sight window’ for adjusting pull force; and mounting pattern compatible with industry standards. The pullers are engineered for mid-volume production runs targeted to perform beyond a million cycles. In three-plate molds, the pullers can be used to draw the “A plate” away from the “X plate”, exposing the runner. For stripper plate molds, pullers are a means to retain a B side, “X plate” or hold the cavity side plate while side actions are being pulled. In addition to parting line sequence control, the pullers can be used to pull or retain double ejector plates, or to retain any other floating mold plate. Should “real world” conditions require additional pull force, toolroom personnel are able to adjust pulling force up to 2-1/2 times the original setting using the spring sight window. The pullers fit within the company’s Friction Free™ engineering standards with no lubrication required for the product to function long-term, making it a unique choice for medical molds or tools with downstream paint operations where part contamination is a concern.
