At this year’s EMO event, Handtmann A-Punkt Automation GmbH will present a robot-based automation solution for its HBZ Trunnion 80 five-axis horizontal machining center. The HMC will be equipped with a Kuka KR 600 Fortec six-axis industrial robot a Siemens Sinumerik control.

In addition to machining, the automated cell allows for material handling and post-machining processes such as drilling, brushing, deburring and polishing, even for parts ranging to 600 kg.

The HBZ Trunnion series was introduced in 2012 and has been expanded to cover maximum workpiece diameters of 850, 1,300 and 1,700 mm, and to handle materials including aluminum, steel and titanium.
