Pre-hardened to 352/461 BHN, the company's P-20 high hard mold steel is supplied “clean” for easier polishing to a high finish. Suitable for plastic molding applications, injection molds, compression molds, mold frames, forming tools and die holders, the steel’s balanced alloy composition ensures uniform cross-sectional hardness. It is available in flats, hollowbar, metric, nonstandard, rounds, squares and standard forms.

Diehl’s highly refined, mold-quality 420 stainless steel exhibits high polishability as well as good corrosion and wear resistance. As an electroslag remelt (ESR), it offers high internal microcleanliness and homogeneous microstructure. Its hardness makes it well-suited for the manufacture of plastic molds that require good parting line retention and sealing between colored resins.

The company's CPM powder metal line is designed to eliminate alloy segregation and produce more highly alloyed grades of steel than are produced by conventional steelmaking. The result is a very fine, uniform carbide distribution for improved toughness and grindability, dimensional stability, hardness, and wear and heat resistance.
