Pneumatic Pumping System Assists in Rubber Molding

Well-suited for prototyping, short-run molding and micro-molding, M.R. Mold & Engineering’s pneumatic Stuffer Box pumping system connects and feeds material directly to the barrel of molding machines, eliminating the need to clean a pumping unit and material-feed mechanism. The system’s chamber is made from 420 hardened stainless steel, and a ¼-14 NPT female thread is used to connect it to the molding machine.

Two unit sizes are available. The low-volume high-pressure LVHP27 offers a volume of 27 cu. inches, which accommodates 1.1 lbs of pre-mixed material. It is capable of feeding liquid silicone rubber (LSR), gum stock silicone and some organic rubbers. The controller regulates air pressure at a 10-1 ratio to 120 psi, 1,200 psi on the material.

The high-volume low-pressure HVLP78 offers a volume of 78 cu. inches, which accommodates 3.1 lbs of pre-mixed material. It is capable of feeding LSR and some gum stock silicone. The controller regulates air pressure at a 2.75-1 ratio to 120 psi, 330 psi on the material.
