The Yama Seiki AV860 APC is based on a high rigidity structure and a three-axes, high precision linear guide way design to provide strong performance and precision. The AV series high accuracy and efficiency capabilities make it the most capable and cost effective VMC on the market, the company reports. Equipped with an automatic pallet changer system, it greatly reduces cycle times to save costs. The APC system is driven by a servo motor that deploys 4 pc tapered positioning blocks and powerful hydraulic clamping force to eliminate gap, cutting vibration, while assuring accurate pallet positioning.
The pallet working table size is 31.5”x18.1”, a rotation angle of 180˚, table loading of 441 pounds, and has a pallet changing time of seven seconds. The high torque belt type spindle design provides 10,000 RPM with a FANUC alpha 12i motor that outputs 20 HP. Utilizing a 24 ATC that is standard, it provides short tool change time in three seconds and is designed for reliability. X, Y, and Z travel measures at 33.9”x23.6”x23.6”, with rapid traverses of the X, Y axes at 1890 IPM and Z axis at 1260 IPM. All casting components are created using the Finite Element Method (FEM) analysis to ensure optimal machine design and structural rigidity, the company adds.
