Bales Mold Service’s (Buffalo Grove, IL ) Nibore®—an electroless nickel-phosphorus matrix containing boron nitride particles—offers excellent release properties and high resistance to wear, heat and corrosion. Nibore has a very low coefficient of friction (0.05 against steel) and an RC hardness of 54, which can be increased to 67 RC after heat treating. It can be applied to any substrate at only 185°F and can be easily stripped without compromising the base material. Nibore will withstand temperatures in excess of 1200° F and requires no anode to apply it because it is an autocatalytic process, saving time and money.
