In February two employees—Dave LaFleche and Chris Matarazzo—purchased OMNI Mold Systems™ (Lisbon, CT). They had been in charge of all day-to-day operations for the past 13 years. “Standardizing the Industry” will continue to be their goal and concept. With this goal in mind, the new ownership is expanding its product line of standard Versa-Slides®. Customers have been asking for sizes that would fill the gaps between the current 40 and 50 series, and the 50 and 60 series of slides. In November, they will have an answer for customers with two new series of Versa-Slides®. Their new (45 Series) will fill the gap between the 40 and 50 series slides with a 4.375” slide face width, and the new (55 Series) will fill the gap between the 50 and 60 series slides with a 7.125” slide face width. In addition to the new slide sizes, they will be offering slide faces. These will be made of H-13 and machined to fit their standard Versa-Slides®. This is one more step to standardizing the mold building process and saving the moldmaker time and money. This is the first major new product offering from OMNI Mold Systems since NPE of 2003. Omni will also be offering press knock out extensions for the first time. They have had requests for all of these products in the past, and are happy to be bringing more standardized products with the high degree of American-made quality that their customers have come to expect.
