Alba Enterprises introduced its Thermoplay DN5/3 Series multi-tip hot runner nozzles to the U.S. market at NPE2015. Well-suited for axial injection of small tubular parts, the nozzles are designed to offer balanced filling that prevents flow lines and reduces the risk of core-pin bending caused by high injection pressures. They can be used for direct, lengthwise injection on the walls of parts.

The nozzles feature symmetrically arranged tips that can be located as close as 3.2 mm from each other, making them particularly well-suited for multi-cavity molding of small parts with limited distance between their axes, or for small mold systems with extremely restricted areas. The nozzles are also said to be suitable for parts requiring a high degree of concentricity. They are recommended for use with high-flow polymers such as ABS, polyethylene, polypropylene and polystyrene.
