Molding Work Cells to Include Automation and Auxiliary Equipment

Wittmann Battenfeld will feature six injection molding work cells with integrated robots, automation, material handling and auxiliary equipment, as well as extrusion-related machinery and auxiliaries.

Wittmann Battenfeld will feature six injection molding work cells with integrated robots, automation, material handling and auxiliary equipment, as well as extrusion-related machinery and auxiliaries. 

The six work cells will include: a new SmartPower machine molding a jeweler’s loop for viewing miniature parts being molded on a MicroPower machine in the Burteck booth (S35013); a two-shot EcoPower machine molding a two-component automotive fuel flange; a MicroPower micromolding machine producing a liquid silicone rubber, two-component tear duct plug; a MacroPower 650/8800 machine molding a single-cavity polypropylene box; Variotherm and Cellmould molding being demonstrated on an EcoPower 240 machine  molding an ABS automotive bezel; and an EcoPower 240/1330 machine with an in-mold labeling (IML) station molding and labeling stadium cups.

All of the work cells will feature integrated Wittmann robots, including several new Pro Series robots, such as the W832 and W843. A new pneumatic sprue picker with Net 8 control system will also be on display, as will the new R8.3 robot operating system, with demonstrations of features including QuickNew easy-teach program creation and EcoVacuum, which provides for low energy usage. A complete range of the company’s material handling systems and auxiliary equipment also will be operating in the booth.
