Brush Wellman Inc. (Cleveland, OH) promotes its full family of MoldMAX® mold alloys. MoldMAX is a high strength, high conductivity mold and tooling copper-based alloy for the plastics market. MoldMAX V® is a copper nickel silicon chrome alloy which has characteristics similar to that of MoldMAX LH, and has a hardness of 28 HRC and thermal conductivity approximately 4-5X greater than P20 tool steel. The MoldMAX product line consists of copper beryllium alloys as well as non-beryllium containing copper alloys all of which provide high hardness and excellent conductivity, but fulfill different needs for various injection and blow molding customers. MoldMAX V enhances our non-beryllium alloy offering and provides improved conductivity over the highly successful MoldMAX XL. MoldMAX XL will continue to be the premier mold material for superior machining capabilities and high conductivity in large size plates.
