Mori Seiki’s (Chicago, IL) NV6000 DCG™ VMC was developed to address growing demand from the LCD and automotive segments of the die and mold industry. Manufacturers within these segments will find particular value in a medium-sized machining center that can deliver high-speed machining with no tool tip vibration. This VMC dramatically improves surface finish, contouring accuracy and tool life. With DCG (Driven at the Center of Gravity) technology, the net driving force acts through the center of the axis. The NV6000 DCG contains five ballscrews—two on the Y-axis, two on the Z-axis, and one on the X-axis—that enables a significant reduction in vibration without sacrificing speed for accuracy.
