Emuge Corp. (West Boylston, MA) will be introducing their new Solid Carbide Micro End Mills designed to meet the requirements of micro machining applications. A geometrically optimized cutting edge and slim, concave, tapered web provide a flexible, high-performance milling solution in a wide variety of materials from 66 Rc hardened steel to graphite. The tools are offered in cutting diameters from .2 mm (.008”) to 2 mm (.080”) with effective cutting length-to-diameter ratios of 2.2:1, 5:1 and 10:1. They are ideal for mold milling for injection molds and extrusion dies or graphite and copper electrodes, as well as high-precision surface structuring of macroscopic components and for small to medium-volume of micro-mechanical production parts. The line includes ball nose, torus and flat end styles and is available in different 24 designs, uncoated or with TiAlN coating—300 new items total. For added versatility, these tools are suitable for diamond coating, which is available upon request.
