The NXV1680A VMC from YCM (Booth 517) offers extended travels and high rigidity for machining in a variety of industries. It features a BBT-40 taper (dual-face contact), 40-hp, 12,000-rpm spindle; a 40-hp, 15,000-rpm spindle is available as an option. YCM’s IDD-Isolated Direct Drive Plus spindle includes a tool unclamping cushion to extend spindle bearing life; ceramic bearings with low inertia mass, low centrifugal force and high rigidity for a low coefficient of thermal deformation; and high-precision helical springs for high dynamic balance and low vibration. 

FEM analysis ensures optimal mass arrangement and rib construction for constant stability under intensive, heavy-duty cutting. The machining center also features THK roller guideways on all three axes, including six slider blocks on the X axis and four guideways on the Y axis. The oversized Z-axis ballscrew and motor eliminate the need for a counterweight system, ensuring precise and flawless finishes.

The NXV1680A is available with a 24-, 30- or 60-tool automatic tool changer that is inverter-controlled and equipped with an absolute encoder to provide high stability and high-speed tool changes. A five-auger chip evacuation system includes four augers along the Y axis and one along the X axis for high-efficiency chip removal.
