The Robofil 240cc featuring “turn and burn” will be displayed at Westec by Charmilles (Lincolnshire, IL). The Robofil 240cc uses the CC generator to dramatically improve machining speed while preserving the surface integrity of the machined material. The turn and burn capability combines a servo controlled moving B-axis with a wire cutting in the X and Y axes to machine complex 3-D shapes. The CC generator is a digital generator based on high-tech components. From roughing to finishing, the CC generator is ‘zero voltage’ to protect parts against electrolytic effects. As a result, users of the 240cc receive the fastest cutting speed on the market plus anti-electrolysis in rough and skim cutting. On the diesinking side, the Roboform featuring GammaTEC diesinking technology. Also will be on display. This technology was designed for the Roboform 350 and 550 machines to meet the high quality and finish demand and time requirements in the mold manufacturing portion of the design process. GammaTEC, with its many patents, maintains the surface quality of the molds and has approximately 30 percent less electrode wear. GammaTEC also reduces time loss in the process of tool manufacturing. Not only is the need for hand polishing avoided in most cases, total tool manufacturing time is also compressed.
