Designed for both high accuracy and high efficiency, the ACC-32-80CHiQ double-column surface grinder from Okamoto is well-suited for grinding large components in demanding mold and die production applications. The rigid double-column design is said to stand up to prolonged heavy-duty grinding conditions, and a double-V table way construction provides continued peak accuracy.

According to the company, the grinder provides a consistently high degree of flatness across the entire workpiece surface. A “reform” mechanism automatically adjusts for cross-rail-slide wear without CNC compensation. A “shift-plunge” grinding cycle assures fast, efficient stock removal, while the machine’s multi-level grinding capability enhances flexibility. The 30-hp spindle motor and 20"-diameter concave grinding wheel are designed to easily handle tough grinding requirements.

Table size is 32" × 80", and maximum pass width is 40". Maximum distance under the standard wheel is 23.5". Table-load capacity, including the chuck, is 5,512 lbs. Exclusive Okamoto iQ software simplifies data input. Standard features include a grinding wheel adaptor, hydraulic overhead wheel dresser with dress compensation, dresser stand with diamond tool, automatic oil temperature regulator and spindle speed controller. Available options include a BIX high-pressure coolant system, electro-magnetic chucks, 24" grinding wheel and dynamic balancing apparatus.
