The Metrotom 800 is available in two versions with tube voltages of 225 kV and 130 kV. The extended 225-kV version offers 500 W of power that enables both metal components and those of mixed materials (hybrid workpieces) to be scanned easily and more quickly.

The 225-kV Metrotom 1500 is said to be particularly well-suited for manufacturers of die cast components. A new measuring Z axis enables scanning of significantly larger components (ranging to 700 mm in height) than was possible with the predecessor model. This is possible because the workpiece can be raised or lowered by 400 mm, and multiple scans can be merged into one volume model.

Corresponding visualization and evaluation software delivers 3D visualizations and section views based on the voxel data generated by Zeiss Metrotom OS. This program also provides information on the shape, size and position of characteristics such as discontinuities and inclusions. Zeiss Calypso software provides metrological evaluations.
