Version 26 of BobCAD-CAM’s core software for CNC milling combines existing 2D and 3D machining technology with Dynamic Machining Strategies (DMS) designed to streamline CAM programming. DMS allows users to apply virtually any number of machining operations to a single CAD model feature, as well as allows on-the-fly editing of these operations. The result saves time, since users do not need to repeatedly re-pick geometry to apply an operation.

The software release also includes advanced tool patterns that enable customization of each machining operation, and customizable job setup sheets that can be generated and handed off to the CNC programmer to speed the machining process. It also includes additional tools to the profiling feature, a simplified CAM tree, and other features that affect general functionality and post-processing.

Additionally, BobCAD-CAM has introduced an instructional video series for users of its BobART add-on software, which enables manufacturers, including moldmakers, to turn pictures into machine programming code and relief models for 3D machining. The BobART Training Professor Video Series, available at bobcad.com, covers image vectorization and relief modeling functionality that can be translated into machine programming code for 2.5-, three-, four- and five-axis CNC machines.
