Republic Lagun Machine Tool Company (Harbor City, CA) offers manual and CNC milling machines, lathes and CNC machining centers. Spanish partner, Maher Holding Group—which consists of Goratu, Zayer, Bermaq, Maquinaria Lagun and Shuton—manufactures ball screws, manual and CNC milling machines, horizontal CNC turning centers, bed and table type, traveling column and bridge machining centers.

Zayer’s bridge, gantry and traveling column machining centers are of the highest quality structures with heavily ribbed construction for superior rigidity, strength and dimensional stability with enhanced wear characteristics. The machines are modular in design, allowing the customer to create custom machines by selecting the desired axes travels, spindle power, automatic tool changers, CNC controls and other machine features.

All the machine’s longitudinal travels range from 118 to 1,181", (3,000 to 30,000 mm). The traveling column vertical travels are from 78 to 236", (2,000 to 6,000 mm). The bridge and gantry’s cross rails are both fixed and elevating with a vertical travel of 47 to 118", (1,200 to 3,000 mm). The cross rails cross travel of 159 to 218" (4,050 to 5,550 mm). All the machines Ram’s vertical travel range from 49 to 78", (1,250 to 2,000 mm).

All the Zayer machines incorporate a broad choice of ram spindle attachments. In 1994 Zayer patented the automatic 45º universal head, having 2-axes of 360,000 positions, with an increment of rotation of .001º. The 2-axes spherical is used for contouring of complex shapes and curvatures. As geared heads, the 45º universal and the 2-axes spherical heads are capable of 6,000 rpm, have full power capability up to 100 Hp. The 2-axes spherical electro-spindle ranges from 16,000 to 24,000 rpm with 53Hp. Conventional ram attachments, including the direct outlet straight head and the "L" shaped right angle. The ram attachments all have spindle orientation and are temperature stabilized by a refrigeration unit.
