CGS North America Inc, 2160 Fasan Drive, Oldcastle, Ontario Canada N0R 1L0, is proud to have become a Dassault Systèmes SolidWorks “Solution Partner”. The product CG CAM-TOOL will allow SolidWorks users to realize a surface finish they cannot accomplish with their present CAM Product and eliminate much of the additional processing normally needed after CNC Machining.

SolidWorks 2011 is focused on optimizing core design functions so users can work smarter and faster to transform new ideas into tangible business results.  It also includes hundreds of new enhancements specifically requested by customers. The new version of  SolidWorks  improves designers’ and engineers’ productivity with new capabilities like a defeature tool, fast drawing detailing, multi-threaded meshing, and motion function generator. These capabilities let designers and engineers speed product design, deepen collaboration, and strengthen their engagement with manufacturing.

CAM-TOOL CAD/CAM Software is known Worldwide for its unique capabilities. Using the same CAM Engine, CG CAM-TOOL allows Mold Makers, Die Makers, Tool Makers, etc. to CNC Machine Hard Materials easily, minimize or eliminate Hand Work, save tooling costs, minimize or eliminate EDM, use very tiny tools effectively, get a phenomenal surface finish, and cut overall costs, all the while working inside of the SolidWorks 2011 environment.

A SolidWorks Solution Partner Product, CG CAM-TOOL, allows users to cut overall costs to the Mold, Tool, or Die Making process by shortening the overall cycle time. This is accomplished using a CAM Engine that outputs extremely accurate NC Code. Unlike other CAM competitors CG CAM-TOOL does not use a Triangulated Mesh surface for creating tool paths. The use of this Triangulated Mesh by others causes a faceting on the machined mold or die that requires a great amount of polishing to eliminate. This increases the polishing hours and also makes dimensional changes to what was machined.

Randy Nash, President of CGS North America Inc., stated “the release of CG CAM-TOOL will allow the SolidWorks user community access to a CAM Software product that will deliver surface finish results and an overall decrease in the cost to process a tool that they didn’t think was possible.
