SecoTools (Booth 716) will showcase a variety of cutting tool solutions for high-feed, square shoulder, face and copy milling applications in its booth at amerimold. Applications engineers will also be available to discuss productivity-boosting machining techniques for the moldmaking industry.

High-feed milling tools on display will include the High Feed 2, 218.19, and Niagara MZN410R and 510R solid carbide cutters. High Feed 2 small-diameter cutters range from 0.625" to 1.25", and offer high feed rates and small depths of cut for handling a variety of applications. The close-pitch 218.19 cutter, available in 2" to 4" diameters, features differential flute spacing for achieving high feed rates and increased metal removal. Niagara MZN410R and 510R cutters are offered in inch sizes and provide tight and close access to smaller-corner radii at mold cavity floors and side walls.

Representing the company’s square shoulder products will be the Turbo 10 and Square 6 lines. Turbo 10 includes a variety of inserts, geometries, corner radii and helical cutters for flexibility in applications involving tough materials. Square 6 cutters employ trigonal inserts with six indexable cutting edges to tackle a range of materials, operations and machining conditions.

Face milling solutions on display will include Double Octomill cutters, which feature inserts with 16 numbered cutting edges to minimize cost per edge and part, as well as pre-hardened cutter bodies to maximize tool life and performance. QuattroMill cutters offer strong, square inserts and highly positive geometries with rake angles as large as 35 degrees.

Available in diameters from 0.625" to 2" for copy milling, the R218.20 ballnose cutter features a rigid design and two effective teeth. Its insert and body strength provide maximum security and reliability, making it suitable for unmanned production. The insert edge features an “S” curve to reduce cutting forces and has a constant cutting rake along the edge.
