Medical Graph

The trend in the growth rate for total U.S. output of medical equipment and supplies used to exhibit a distinct and smooth cyclical pattern, but for the past three years it has settled into a steady rate of three percent per year. The fact that growth in this sector held steady during the recent economic recession bodes well for the future of the medical equipment industry. The U.S. is by far the largest market for these products, and though the rate of growth in the total U.S. population is decelerating, the per capita consumption of medical products continues to rise. Suppliers of medical equipment and supplies can expect growth of at least three percent per year for the foreseeable future.
