Walter USA (Waukesha, WI)—a provider of cutting tool solutions in industries like automotive, aerospace and defense and energy—has expanded its facility with the addition of the 40,000 square foot Walter North American Technology Center. Last week the company held an inauguration of this center—with a ribbon cutting and tree planting ceremony. Guests included Walter Americas President Muff Tanriverdi, Walter AG President Mirko Merlo, Wisconsin Lt. Governor Rebecca Kleefisch, AMT VP-Exhibitions & Communications Peter Eelman, and Waukesha County Business Alliance President Suzanne Kelley.

Tanriverdi opened the ceremonies with a speech in which he noted, “We want everyone to know that Walter is open for business in Wisconsin.” The new center is a facility with demonstration and application trial areas devoted to involving real-world applications and Walter cutting tool technology. Tanriverdi notes it will be used to help educate customers, channel partners and employees on the company’s products, while providing the cornerstone to further enhance Walter Multiply—the company’s new competence brand that deals with service support to end users in the areas of planning, manufacturing, logistics, maintenance and training.
