K 2013 to Feature Special Show: "Plastics Move the World"

At the “Plastics move the world” special show at K 2013, International Trade Fair – No. 1 for Plastics and Rubber Worldwide, numerous aspects of mobility will be presented – from lightweight materials in the design of motor vehicles, aircrafts and ships to electro mobility and individual mobility. Plastics is a material that moves the world, motivates and facilitates personal mobility and the special show will highlight this quality.

The focus will be on climate-compatible energy and transport concepts as well as on the changes in work and personal life due to mobile means of communication. K 2013 will take place at the fairgrounds in Düsseldorf, Germany from October 16 - 23, 2013.

Using multimedia, by means of selected exhibits and in daily discussions with experts from science and industry, the event will present the contributions made by plastics and rubber to “life on the move”. The presentations will go well beyond a mere account of achievements in the technical and materials sectors.

The special show at K 2013 will again be organized by the German plastics industry under the overall management of PlasticsEurope Deutschland e.V. and Messe Düsseldorf. Traditionally, it complements the exhibitors’ product displays with forward-looking topics and underlines K Düsseldorf’s unique position as the trend barometer and innovation forum for the entire industry.

A modern, dynamic image and the slogan “K makes the difference” are the key communication elements for the industry’s leading international trade fair. The exhibitor applications for K 2013 will be sent out worldwide beginning of 2012 to manufacturers of machinery and equipment for the plastics and rubber industry, suppliers of raw materials and auxiliaries, producers of semi-finished products, technical parts and reinforced plastics and service providers. The exhibitor registration deadline is May 31, 2012.

In a phase of economic recovery, the last staging of K in October 2010 gave the industry a powerful boost. The 3,098 exhibiting companies reported new, exciting customer contacts, a marked willingness to invest and the conclusion of many deals. Some 220,000 trade visitors attended K 2010.
