International Mold Steel, a world leader in specialty mold and die steels announces the stocking and processing of Superplast® Stainless from the Industeel division of Arcelor Mittal.
Superplast® Stainless is ideal for mold bases, holder block, un-etched/unpolished inserts and dies along with other applications where a high polish is not required.
The special chemistry, based on low Carbon and 12% Chromium content, provides good corrosion resistance in high humidity environments.
Superplast® is easily machined: milling, gun drilling, radial drilling and tapping due to its chemical composition, as compared to: W1-2085, W1.2316, and 420 F grades.
Features:
• Pre-hardened (30-35 HRC) 420 F-type material
• Improved machinability
• Improved consistency and weldability
• Corrosion resistance
Superplast® is not designed for highly polished or textured surfaces. Material is available in plate form, and will be stocked up to 4 ¼”.
