EMO 2015 Posts Record-Breaking Attendance

The exhibition, held October 5-10, in Milan, Italy, exceeded 2009 numbers by 25 percent.

EMO 2015, held October 5-10, in Milan, Italy, posted record-breaking attendance of 155,362 visitors representing 120 countries. Fifty-one percent of those visitors were from outside of Italy, including Germans (12 percent of the total), followed by attendees from Switzerland, Japan, France, Turkey, China, Russia, Spain, Sweden, Austria, Taiwan, the Czech Republic, Korea, Israel and Poland.

The show exceeded the already high expectations set after it was last held in Italy in 2009. Compared with that show, the 2015 edition had 12 percent more exhibitors, a 26-percent larger exhibition space and 25 percent higher attendance.

Promoted by CECIMO, the European Association of Machine Tool Industries, and operated by UCIMU-Sistemi per Produrre, this year's show covered the entire production spectrum, from metal forming to metal cutting machines, from robotics to automation, from tooling to auxiliary technologies to mechatronics. Additive manufacturing technologies also made their debut, and the show hosted an international conference dedicated to this area that was attended by about 180 people, including researchers, technical specialists, entrepreneurs and experts.

The EMO trade show will return to Milan in 2021.
