Electroform Company Expands Facility

Electroform Company Inc., manufacturer of precision, close-tolerance injection molds for the medical and packaging markets, has expanded its current facility to add a dedicated mold assembly area.

Electroform Company Inc., manufacturer of precision, close-tolerance injection molds for the medical and packaging markets, has expanded its current facility to add a dedicated mold assembly area. The company also added CNC surface grinding capabilities and increased its EDM capacity with new equipment and custom software packages.

“We have outgrown our current assembly area and needed to add higher-capacity cranes for handling the large, multi-cavity and stack molds we build for our medical and closure OEM customers,” saiysWade Clark, president of Electroform. “This gives us room for additional equipment on both the production floor and assembly.”

Electroform also added capacity in its grinding area with new CNC OD/ID grinding and CNC surface grinding equipment. “This new equipment allows us to increase our ability to create precision parts with greater efficiencies,” comments Clark. “It also offers us the ability to maintain very tight tolerances and part-to-part consistency which increases the longevity of our tooling.  Most of our tools will be in production for many years, and holding the tight tolerances that we do has proven to reduce the cost of maintenance for our customers.”

Electroform’s  EDM department has added an additional EDM machine and improved its automation capabilities with the development and purchase of new custom software packages specifically for advancing its unattended operation in EDM, milling and inspection.

“While the expansion and capability additions are incremental, they are very critical to the success of Electroform and the ability to serve our customers more efficiently and with the absolute best quality they are accustomed to.” said Clark.
