“Antonio’s four decades of experience in the design, engineering, and sales of injection molds and mold components will benefit customers of every product family offered by ALBA Enterprises,” said John M. Dineen, president. “Thanks to his deep knowledge of Thermoplay® hot runner systems, we expect that these products, widely known and respected in Europe for innovations that boost productivity and enhance part quality, will emerge as preferred alternatives in North America as well.”

Antonio De Longhi entered the plastics industry in 1975 as a mold designer in Italy. Subsequently he spent two years designing molds in Mexico before returning to Italy in 1983 to start a business that provided design services to moldmakers. After nine years of running his own company, he became head of the technical and sales departments for the Italian moldmaker FDR. In 2007 he started the firm Techplast, which, besides doing mold design, served as a consultancy to Thermoplay, developing new hot runner business in Russia, Mexico, Colombia, and India.

De Longhi holds a bachelors degree in mechanical engineering. In addition to his native Italian, he speaks fluent English, French, and Spanish.
