The first TRAM conference attracted nearly 300 participants.

After a successful North American debut in 2012, the TRAM aerospace conference will return to Chicago and the IMTS show this September.

TRAM (Trends in Advanced Machining, Manufacturing and Materials) is an event dedicated solely to advanced machining technologies, processes and materials used in the aerospace sector. Presented by the Advanced Manufacturing Research Centre (AMRC), AMT – The Association For Manufacturing Technology, and Modern Machine Shop and High Performance Composites magazines (both sister publications of MoldMaking Technology), the event is scheduled for September 10-11, 2014 alongside IMTS at Chicago’s McCormick Place.

The event will kick off with a keynote speech from Greg Hyslop, vice president and general manager of The Boeing Company’s Research & Technology division. Other speakers from Boeing, the event’s sponsor, include Ricardo Traven, the company’s chief test pilot for the F/A-18, and Peter Hoffman, vice president of intellectual property management. “(The speakers) offer our attendees insight into the aerospace industry that they wouldn’t be able to get anywhere else,” says Adrian Allen, commercial director of the AMRC and technical director of the TRAM event.

Attendees will also have free access to the IMTS exhibit hall and will be invited to participate in a networking reception Wednesday evening.
