Survey Report: 2013 North American Plastics Industry Study
Higher company performance and reshoring are among the favorable trends impacting North American processors reported in Plante Moran’s 2013 North American Plastics Industry Survey Report, which is enhanced this year by the input of multiple focus group participants.
According to Plante Moran the most important new aspect is a value ranking assessment they added that reviews the various components of value and assigns you a score for comparability and to calculate your company’s relative value.
The overall data suggests that many plastics processors have recovered well since the recession. There are many factors driving the recovery. For this report, they focus on four favorable trends that are playing a meaningful part in supporting the positive point of view regarding the current conditions in the North American plastics industry: (1) company performance trends: higher utilization, productivity and profits (2) a resurgence in Mexico (3) reshoring trends creating opportunities for North American processors and (4) attractive company valuations.
