Reshoring Hits the Front Page

Reshoring is "old news" to some, but boy was I thrilled to see it FINALLY make the front page of my local paper! And not just one story, they are starting a series. It kicked off with a story on K'NEX, a local toy manufacturer that has brought its work back to the U.S.

The series is all about how "Made in the USA is making a comeback. After years of manufacturing declines, some companies are realizing it makes financial sense to make things at home. An increasing number of American companies, from small manufacturers to industry giants are 'reshoring' manufacturing that previously had gone overseas or making commitments to make more products on our home soil."  Series topics include: increasesd labor costs overseas and technological innovations at home that are spurring the resurgence of American manufacturing; consumers having an increased appetite for U.S.-made goods; and, skilled labor and financial incentives that are needed to keep the momentum going.

None of this is new to us of course--because we live and breathe manufacturing and know its value--but it still made me smile to see it hit page 1! Manufacturing hitting the mainstream is what will make things change for the better ... or at least move in the right direction.
