Plastics industry professionals seeking the latest packaging and processing knowledge will now be able to take part in a new FastTrack training program on September 4th and 5th, near Toledo, Ohio.

Sponsored by Plastic Technologies, Inc. (PTI), a globally-respected plastics engineering and package development firm, two full-day training sessions will be offered at its Holland, Ohio headquarters facility.  PTI has more than three decades of experience in creating client and industry-driven training programs which have enhanced the knowledge of thousands of plastics industry professionals.

This latest program, which is being taught under the PTI’s FastTrack training brand, will feature two modules— Conformal Cooling for Injection Molding (September 4th) and Medical Plastics Design and Processing (September 5th).

Robert Beard P.E. will be the instructor for the Conformal Cooling for Injection Molding course, while Len Czuba will teach Medical Plastics Design and Processing.

Beard is president of Robert A. Beard & Associates Inc., which offers product design and development consulting services. He is a licensed professional engineer with more than 40 years of plastics industry experience.  He has taught thermodynamics, plastics, kinematics, engineering drawing and advanced machine design at the University of Wisconsin, Pennsylvania State University and New York State University as adjunct instructor.  Beard also has significant industry experience having been a general manager for a custom injection molder, 10 years in engineering management for Abbott Laboratories and plastic coextrusion R&D manager at National Can.

Czuba is president of Czuba Enterprises, Inc., a product development firm which helps clients go from concept to market. He has more than 30 years experience in polymer synthesis, compounding and material development for medical device applications.  He had a multi-decade tenure at Baxter Healthcare Corp., where he was involved in device engineering, blood/IV container and product development. He holds 15 U.S. patents and has helped commercialize a variety of medical devices. In 2004, Czuba was named one of Medical Device & Diagnostic Industry’s 100 Notable Persons.
